Dubai: After Sunday's impressive gains, UAE stocks markets closed mixed on Monday, with Dubai marginally down and Abu Dhabi slightly moving up.

The Dubai benchmark ended 0.27 per cent lower at 1620.60 and the Abu Dhabi index advancing 0.54 per cent to 2555.52.

"The DFM General Index was moving whole day in the range of aprox. 25 points touching lower levels of 1605 then moving higher to 1631 and then closed marginally lower by 0.27 per cent at 1620.60 standing strong near the resistance levels," said Shiv Prakash, equity investment analyst, Mac Sharaf Securities. "Few stocks showed good buying from lower levels."

In Dubai,12 stocks moved up, 19 declined and five remained unchanged. Tabreed led the list of advancing stocks, surging 14.93 per cent to Dh0.77.

Other stocks that gained included Deyaar Deevelopment and Union Properties, up 1.79 per cent to Dh0.87 and 1.27 to Dh0.80 respectively.

Emaar Properties remained flat at Dh2.52. Dubai Financial Market, Emirates NBD and Arabtec Construction fell 2.11 per cent, 2.37 per cent and 2.11 per cent respectively.

In Abu Dhabi, real estate stocks Aldar and Sorouh jumped 7.38 per cent to Dh3.49 and 3.53 per cent to Dh2.63 respectively.

Other gainers included Dana Gas, which surged 5.97 per cent to Dh0.71, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, up 6.23 per cent to Dh10.25 and Rak Ceramic soaring 9.70 per cent to Dh1.44.

Union Insuarnce lost 8.85 per cent to close at Dh3.39. etisalat retreated 1.44 per cent to Dh10.30.
