Blunt, the winner of Best Pop Act, Best British Male awards and Best New Artist, is to perform for the first time in the region on February 25, 2009, during the seventh edition of Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival 2009 at Dubai Media City Outdoor Amphitheatre.

Considered a major talent in waiting, Blunt (born James Hillier Blount) used to be a military captain, but left the army in 2002 to concentrate on music full-time.
The singer is another in a string of British easy-listening exports. His hit songs You're Beautiful and Goodbye My Lover from his debut album Back to Bedlam were 2005's deep-feeling favourites.

A thoughtful performer with a knack for crafting melodic, contemporary soft rock tunes, his style is a mixture of pop, folk and acoustic rock.
Along with vocals, Blunt plays a wide variety of instruments including the piano, guitar, organ, marimba and mellotron. He became the first British artist to top the American singles chart in nearly a decade when You're Beautiful reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2006.
Blunt won two Brit Awards and was nominated for five Grammy Awards in 2006. He is one of the highest selling British artiste in the world with a sales record of 11 million CDs.
