More than 50 employers from leading organisations representing government, semi-government and the private sectors are taking part in the event, looking to interview and hire students for full-time, part-time.
Tanmia made use of the event's platform to register maximum number of students from DWC in its database of jobseekers, and also provide students with a comprehensive overview of the current job market requirements and trends in the UAE.
Feddah Lootah, Acting General Manager, Tanmia, said, 'The Employer's Day provided an ample opportunity for Tanmia to interact closely with students from DWC and explain to them various aspects of the UAE's dynamic job market. The students made the best use of Tanmia's participation by updating themselves with information about the qualifications and skills required in today's job environment.'
'We appreciate the efforts of Dubai Women's College in hosting the Employer's Day, as it offered organisations from the private and public sectors a chance to hire suitable candidates for various positions, while giving students a feel of the job market situation. More importantly, the event was a good opportunity for companies to meet their emiratisation targets,' she added.
At Employers' Day 2007, 81% of the participating employers were from the private sector, while the government and semi-government sectors made up the remaining 19%.
Last year, 109 job offers were made during the Employers' Day, out of which 72 were accepted.
