Dubai: Grievances about services provided by government departments have been streamlined.
The portal,
www.ecomplain.ae, is where residents can register their grievances about the quality of services provided by government departments.
The project is part of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme. The government is encouraging the public to use the site call the phone centre or email.
Residents can track the status of their complaints while respective organisations work on resolving the issue. The system was launched to enable the public sector to improve its services and performance.
Organisations participating currently are: Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Department of Health and Medical Services, Roads and Transport Authority and Department of Naturalisation and Residency.
To use the system, residents must create an account. They can keep their identity anonymous while registering complaints as the information entered to create an account will not be visible to participating organisations.
"Through this system we want to provide a solid platform for customers to make their voices heard and acted upon, we want the departments to listen to their customers, to solve their problems and benefit from them in the continual improvement and development of services," said Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the Dubai Executive Council Chairman.
Amal Khadri, who works as a public relations officer for a private firm said it will encourage customers to voice their complaints.
